Melissa was born in California, but raised in Montana. After her dad spent a short time working in Montana, her parents concluded that it was time to move. They wanted to raise their family in a smaller, supportive community, where their children wouldn’t be lost in the school system. They settled into a home in Shields Valley when she was five. Growing up she always dreamed of moving to the big city. She wanted the fast paced lifestyle, tall buildings, hustle and bustle, and opportunity.

After graduating from Shields Valley High School in the spring of 2006, she worked as an office assistant in the ERA office of Livingston, where she first developed an attraction to the real estate business.  She studied to receive her real estate license that summer, and became an agent in another local office by September.  After working a short time in the business, she decided to head to California to pursue her dream of the city life. Keeping her license in Montana, and hoping to study real estate in California, she packed her bags and headed for the San Francisco Bay Area.

She lived with her aunt and uncle for the next year, during which she discovered her desire was not to be in the work field just yet, but instead out travelling the world. After saving for the next year, in the fall of 2007 she travelled overseas to Europe with her sister and a friend. She spent the next two months skipping from country to country throughout all of Europe.  She explored the streets of Prague, ruins of Athens, remnants of Rome, Alps of Salzburg, and beyond. She met some amazing people and made many new friends before she returned to California.  Once back “home” she realized that she was once blessed to live in one of the most beautiful places in the world. Surrounded by mountains, endless skies, open spaces, and roaring rivers, she decided her true home was in Montana. After a trial of less than a year in California, the place she once dreamed of living, she moved back home to Montana. In the next year she made the decision to take another journey, alone, and Asia was the next destination. After saving for some time, she left solo for Asia in the fall of 2008.  She visited the beaches of Thailand, temples of Cambodia, jungles of Laos, and many more places, meeting some amazing travelers along the way. She had intended on living and working in New Zealand for an entire year, but after a month, with the Christmas holiday approaching, she longed to be home with family.

Upon returning home, she began a search for an office to work in real estate once again.  She found an office in the city of Bozeman, but after a few months realized the fit wasn’t right for her.  She was fortunate to have a friend present an offer to her, and came around full circle to join the office of ERA Livingston once again, this time as an agent.  She is a dedicated, determined young mind, eager to learn more about the business, and ready for action.  She hopes to open the minds of many other young adults, and help them start a life in their own home. Growing up in the area, she has a wealth of knowledge to share with anyone. She enjoys exploring the beautiful surroundings in which she lives, as well as the many wonderful cultures of the world.  Her hobbies include globe-trotting, rock climbing, skiing and snowboarding, floating the Yellowstone River, camping, and hanging out with her friends and family.
