Donald G. Bowen started his real estate career in San Diego, California in 1966. During his years in San Diego, Don served as president of the San Diego Board of REALTORS®, president of RESSI, (Real Estate Syndication and Securities Institute - a national committee of NAR), as well as Vice President of the California Real Estate Association. The Bowen Company had a residential sales office in La Jolla and expanded into commercial property management. By 1988, The Bowen Company was responsible for the property management of over 1,000,000 SF of commercial space and over 3,000 units of condominium association space in San Diego County.

After his successful career in San Diego, Don and his wife Toni moved to the Madison Valley in 1993 to set up the sales and marketing for Sun West Ranch. They intended to finish that project and move to their property on Payette Lake in McCall, Idaho. But they fell in love with the valley and in 1994 they became associated with Jess Armitage, FNI Real Estate, and bought a home in Ennis. In 1996 the Bowens acquired FNI Real Estate and changed the name to Arrow Real Estate, (Bowen Arrow!!) which continued to operate in the same location at 219 E. Main Street in Ennis for 18 years. In March of 2014, ERA Landmark acquired Arrow Real Estate and their name is now ERA Landmark Arrow Real Estate. Don is the recipient of the designation of REALTOR® Emeritus, an entitlement bestowed upon those who have been members in good standing of the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® for a cumulative period of forty years.
