What a success! We enjoyed our first Agents of Hope Carnival held at Bogert Park on Saturday, August 13th and the event is getting rave reviews.

ERA Landmark Real Estate and the Montana Chapter of the Muscular Dystrophy Association would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone involved in making this event so successful. It was our vision to create a new community-oriented event while raising money for a local cause. The generous contributions from our sponsors and volunteers helped make our vision a reality. Not only was the carnival a blast for the estimated 300 people that attended, but we were able to raise nearly $10,000 for MDA!

We invite you to become a fan of ERA Agents of Hope Carnival on Facebook. Visit www.eracarnival.com to…

My first job after college in the early 80s was working at Security Title in Sidney, MT. This entry-level job included hand “posting” all the new transactions, i.e. deeds, mortgages, and leases, in our tract indexes and “proofing” with my supervisor.  She would give me a legal description, and I would read her my weekly post for accuracy.  The time-consuming and precise process of take-down, posting, and proofing hundreds of transactions consumed 3 to 4 days of each work week.  This fond memory was during the previous oil and gas boom in eastern Montana when my handwriting was much better than it is today.

In preparation for this article, I interviewed Brad Stratton of American Land Title. ALTC is celebrating its 41st year in the title business.…

Friday, September 9th will wrap up this season's Art Walks in downtown Bozeman. ERA Landmark will be featuring Bette Jaedicke's oil and watercolor art.

Bette Jaedicke, a native of Wyoming, is an accomplished oil and watercolor artist.  Her expressive style reflects her love of color and texture. Most of her oils are completed “alla prima,”  meaning “at once” -- without drying time in between.

She has received numerous awards in the Rocky Mountain region. One of her works was honored in a six-state juried show in Red Lodge, Montana.  Her piece “Wine and Roses” appeared in the Scottsdale Artists' School's annual juried show, Best and Brightest. She has participated in invitational shows in Bozeman and Billings, Montana, Chattanooga, Tennessee, and at…

August Greetings from Sharon and Brian,

With all the turmoil in the national news, we thought about not sending a newsletter this month. After all, if the leaders of our country don't know what to do, what could we possibly suggest to you?

Well, we've thought of a few ideas that might be of help in the real estate world. They're gleaned, of course, from lots of different sources that we read every day.  We hope this "food for thought" will be of help to you in these puzzling times.

WHAT ARE THE "GOLD NUGGETS" IN THIS MARKET?

#1.  This is a great time to "move up." If you bought your house a few years ago, but have outgrown it (kids, dogs, parents, or?), this would be a wonderful opportunity to buy a larger home. Even if you won't be able to get…
