Education, housing, fun, fitness - Montana has it all! For young people looking to start their lives, MoneyRates.com ranked Montana as the 4th best state where “youth rules.” They analyzed five lifestyle factors, like nightlife and health, as well as four economic factors like housing and education. The highlight for Montana is the “surprisingly high number of health clubs and top-rated bars for its population size," said Richard Barrington, Money Rates Columnist. We know that people of all ages benefit from these same lifestyle and economic factors and that's why we call Montana home!

The vastness and diversity of Montana’s landscape is one quality that makes it such a special and unique place to live.  And though often we feel the slight tinge of competition to grow the job and housing markets in our own geographical area, the stability of our state’s economy as a whole is what brings people to Montana and retains those of us who were born and/or raised here.

I recently had the opportunity to attend the seventh annual Midyear Update to the Economic Outlook, presented by Paul Polzin and Patrick Barkey from the University of Montana Bureau of Business and Economic Research. The seminar provided attendees with up-to-date data on current conditions statewide as well as projections for the future, including the impact of the current…

Robyn Erlenbush was recently interviewed by the Bozeman Daily Chronicle for an article about the state of our local housing market.

As reported in the Chronicle, Bozeman’s housing market has seen an increase in sales through the first half of 2012, mirroring a statewide housing industry trend, according to figures released by the Montana Association of Realtors. Sales of single-family homes, townhouses, and condos grew by nearly 8 percent compared to the same time period last year, according to the recently released statistics. Lot sales increased by 69 percent. “It’s not coming back instantly but there’s definitely a trend. We’re starting to see out-of-state and out-of-country money,” Erlenbush said.

July Greetings from Sharon and Brian!

We’re hoping that our Bozeman summer is treating you well! What beautiful weather! So many fun things to do and see.

The Bozeman area real estate market seems to be improving. The Bozeman economy has low unemployment, many new homes are being built and new businesses are thriving. We’re in a better place than the nation as a whole. And - indications bode well for the market as of the end of the 2nd quarter. We should have our ERA local MLS statistics available in a week or so.  (You can contact us for specifics soon.)  But some clues are:

  1. The number of pending sales in the Bozeman and surrounding area is significant.
  2. Inventory is down – there are fewer properties on the market in some price ranges.
