National press recognized Bozeman once again when Money Magazine released their list of America’s places to retire this week. While not the #1 spot, Bozeman was recognized in the list as the “Best Place for an Encore Career.”

According to the magazine, “A booming high-tech scene, including companies Bridger Photonics Technologies, manufacturer of laser sensors, and financial reporting software firm WebFilings makes Bozeman’s economy one of the fastest growing in the state. The city has a vibrant downtown that pairs historic hotels and theaters with more than 100 small businesses, most of which are independent and locally owned.”

Summers, especially in Montana, are a fast and furious rush of spending as much time as possible outdoors recreating.  While fall is still a glorious season, the first frosts remind us that it may be time to take care of business, including real estate transactions.  Spring is often given the top spot as the busiest selling season when the local home inventories grow and the moving trucks are out in full force. I recently attended a conference called Real Estate Connect hosted by Inman News, which had a fascinating segment on the reemerging luxury market and the international buyer.  It is intriguing to start looking at the recovery on a larger, global scope and then bring it back down to how it affects our real estate market.  A report published in June by the National Association of Realtors® gives an in-depth look at the numbers in the form of the 2014 Profile of International Home Buying Activity.  It summarizes sales during the 12-month period which ended March 2014.  The most interesting figure included is that the dollar volume of sales to international clients rose to approximately $92.2 billion, which was a jump from $68.2 billion the year prior.  This…
