Bozeman's Main Street serves as the heart of Gallatin Valley. Outlook for Real Estate

I recently traveled to Orlando, Florida to attend the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) Annual Convention. The conference features the best of the real estate industry in terms of speakers, committee meetings, and a trade show expo for attendees from around the country to both learn and share. One of my favorite highlights is the Economic and Housing Market Outlook presentation by the NAR Chief Economist, Lawrence Yun, Ph.D. This year, Dr. Yun was joined by Dennis Lockhart, President of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, to update all of us on the economic challenges and opportunities facing the real estate market. Winter is Coming - Is Your Home Ready?

Have you been watching the evening weather reports? Or, check the sky in the morning to find out what type of weather we may be having for today. This time of the year I love to watch the local news to catch up on the weather and check for plunging temps. I gotta know when they are going to start getting closer to that frigid winter temperature of 32 degrees at night because that's when I better make sure my house is ready. After several years of babysitting foreclosure houses for the bank, I have become more attuned to the possibility of frozen water lines in homes. Believe me, it happens. We Proudly Support the Boys & Girls Club of Southwest Montana

Since 1987 the associates of  ERA Landmark have been proud contributors to the Boys and Girls Club of Southwest Montana. A portion of each real estate transaction is dedicated to a special fund to benefit children in the Gallatin Valley during the holiday season. Our "Season of Giving" has assisted in making the holidays a bit more radiant for local families. In addition to the charitable office collaboration, ERA Associate Sue Frye and her husband, Glenn Frye have been honored as the 2015-2016 Boys & Girls Club Volunteers of the Year! Sue and Glenn contributed generously to the purchase of the new Boys & Girls Club building; an incredible gift to many of our local children and their families.

With Respect, Honor, & Gratitude - Happy Veterans Day

There are many veterans in my family. My Father, Tim Abel, my Grandfather Ray Lohr, and my Uncle Bob McKinley. Tim served in Vietnam and was highly decorated with a Bronze Star-Valor Device for defending a strategic position. He also received two Purple Hearts. Ray Lohr, my grandfather, was in World War II and received the Bronze Star for repairing an anti-aircraft gun, in a field, under a tarp, at night, while in close contact with the enemy. Bob was stationed onboard a ship in the Pacific during WWII. Because of my family, I felt compelled to serve my country too. I enlisted in the Navy and served onboard an Amphibious Assault ship post Desert Storm. One of the craziest "evolutions" was hauling Marine Mammal Systems (mine detecting dolphins) out to…
