Gallatin County Takes a Step Towards Affordable Housing

Gallatin County is making strides to address the region's ongoing housing crisis. A new affordable housing development, planned for the county-owned land behind the Gallatin County Rest Home, is set to provide 178 much-needed units.

This project is a significant step forward, as the county has secured approval for nine-percent low-income tax credits to help fund the development. These credits will allow the county to finance a portion of the construction costs, making the project more feasible.

Big Sky Winter Coat Drive

The 2024 Big Sky Collaborative Coat Drive  is accepting gently used, clean winter coats until November 30th. These collected coats will then be distributed to community members at The Wilson Hotel on December 4th from 1 to 6 PM. Local donation sites include First Security Bank, American Bank, and BASE. A special donation day will be held at BASE on November 13th from 4 to 6 PM where donors will receive a free day pass to BASE in exchange for their coat donation.

The Big Sky Rotary Club is collecting cash donations to purchase new coats, and thank you to Persnickety Cleaners who is offering complimentary cleaning services for up to 200 coats to ensure they are ready for distribution.

New Campus in Belgrade to Support Youth Mental and Behavioral Health

A recently purchased campus, located in Belgrade, will soon serve local youths aged 11 to 18 who are experiencing behavioral health crises. This project is a collaborative effort between the Human Resource Development Council (HRDC) and Billings’ Yellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch. The new campus will assess patients’ needs, provide stabilization, and guide them to appropriate resources. The long-term goal includes offering educational services for extended stays and enhanced home support.

Downtown Bozeman is turning pink this October!

Join us for a month-long celebration of community and support for those affected by cancer.

Throughout October, Main Street will be adorned with pink banners, and local businesses will feature pink window decorations.
