Looking over data for the past 10 years, the number of single-family homes sold within the Bozeman city limits started at 334 units in 2007, it a low of 291 units in 2009, and peaked at a high of 584 homes last year.  The average prices followed a similar curve beginning at $337,400 and dropping to $274,456 in 2011. The average price in 2016 was back up to $399,753. In the rural areas directly surrounding Bozeman, the number of units sold in 2007 was reported at 223, with a dip to 171 in 2009, and over doubling the sales in 10 years to end 2016 at 493 homes sold. The average sales price in 2007 was $543,756, which was edged out slightly by 2008, then dipped to a low in 2011 and weighed in at the end of last year at $520,493. Belgrade home sales were strong in 2007 at 264 units before dropping substantially for several years. 2016 showed a strong finish with 299 single-family homes sold. The average home prices fluctuated much beginning at $287,473 in 2007, with a low of $192,779 in 2010, and rounding out 2016 at $283,623.
