Introducing Tara Carlson
Tara recently joined ERA Landmark Real Estate and will be working with buyers and sellers in Bozeman and the surrounding Southwest Montana area. Her path to real estate is shaped by frequent moves, long term work in the insurance industry, and a focus on helping people navigate complex decisions with clarity and care.
A Background That Includes Frequent Relocation
Tara grew up in an Army family and moved often during her childhood, relocating from one military base to another. These experiences exposed her early on to the realities of moving and adjusting to new communities.
Later, she lived in Idaho, where her extended family still resides. While there, she met her husband, Nick. Together, they have two sons and a sheepadoodle.
For her husband’s career, Tara and her family relocated four additional times across the country. These moves required organization, adaptability, and careful planning, all skills that continue to inform her professional work today.
Calling Bozeman Home
After several cross country moves, Tara and her family settled in Bozeman, which she now considers their long term home. She and her family are active in the local community and spend their time enjoying many of the activities the area offers.
In her free time, Tara enjoys gardening, hiking local trails, and attending her children’s school and youth sports activities in and around Bozeman.
Professional Experience in Client Service
Before entering real estate, Tara spent more than 11 years working in the insurance industry. Her work focused on client relationships, attention to detail, and personalized service. That experience required clear communication, accurate documentation, and consistent follow through.
These skills translate directly to real estate, where clients often rely on their agent to help them understand processes, timelines, and next steps. Tara brings this professional background into every transaction, with an emphasis on keeping clients informed and supported.
Transitioning Into Real Estate
Tara’s decision to move into real estate builds naturally on her prior experience and personal history with relocation. She works with clients who are moving locally as well as those relocating from other areas.
Her stated goal is to help make the buying or selling process as smooth and manageable as possible, whether a client is moving across town or across the country.
