Five local businesses and businesspeople were honored Thursday night at the nonprofit Prospera Business Network’s annual Business Excellence Awards.
Community companies and individuals were nominated for the awards by members of the Prospera network, said Stuart Leidner, executive director. Each nomination is looked into and the ones that most emulate each of the five categories are passed along to Prospera’s board, which chooses the winners.
It’s one of the things the board enjoys doing each year in getting to highlight the stellar companies,” Leidner said.
The winners were:
- Robyn Erlenbush was named 2011 Woman Entrepreneur of the Year in recognition of her successful startup of NAI Landmark Commercial Real Estate, 30 years of success owning ERA Landmark Real Estate, and her leadership within the industry.
- Mystery Ranch and owner Dana Gleason were named 2011 Innovator of the Year in recognition of their success and commitment to creating backpacks that beat the elements.
- Spark R&D owner Will Ritter was named 2011 Entrepreneur of the Year in recognition for creating and manufacturing the first split-board binding, allowing a better backcountry snowboarding experience.
