About

At the very heart of Gallatin County and originating from the expansion of the Northern Pacific Railway in the late 1800s, Belgrade was established by entrepreneur Thomas B. Quaw who marketed the area as "The Princess of the Prairies"! Due to European investors in the westbound railroad line, Belgrade was granted its name after the capital of Serbia! Like many traditional towns, the main street of the city still runs parallel to the railroad tracks.

Sitting on the floor of the Gallatin Valley, Belgrade, Montana is nestled between beautiful views of the Bridger Mountain Range and the infamous Gallatin River. The modest urban sprawl of the area gives Belgrade the feel of a quiet, small-town community but only being a quick 15-minute drive to downtown Bozeman allows it the amenities of the larger city. The Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport calls its home adjacent to Belgrade city limits, making it one of Montana's six international airports and the biggest airport closest to Yellowstone National Park.

Direct highways and Interstate 90 go directly through town, making commuting times easy for those looking to live in Belgrade. You can be on the ski slopes of Bridger Bowl in about 30 minutes or up to Big Sky Resort in a short hour.
