2017 is officially in the books. The expectation from a year ago that insufficient inventory would create challenges proved to be correct throughout our marketplace. This summary compares 2017 to 2016 sales and inventory information using the Big Sky Country Multiple Listing Service (BSCMLS) reported data as the source.
Ennis and the Madison Valley were relatively flat comparing year to year. The number of sales for single family homes increased from 76 to 81 units, average prices increased by 6% from $348,552 to $368,942, and the median weighed in at $271,000 for 2017, down from $291,000 in 2016. Home inventory dropped from 74 units to 69 units at the end of 2017.
