2017 Real Estate Review - Livingston

Posted on February 12, 2018

2017 is officially in the books. The expectation from a year ago that insufficient inventory would create challenges proved to be correct throughout our marketplace. This summary compares 2017 to 2016 sales and inventory information using the Big Sky Country Multiple Listing Service (BSCMLS) reported data as the source. The market in Livingston and surrounding Park County showed a 19% increase in sales with 252 single family homes sold in 2017 compared to 212 in 2016.  Average sales price jumped 18% from $295,747 in 2016 to $348,371 in 2017, with a median sales price of $274,800. Inventory for the county finished the end of 2017 with 77 available properties, down 21% from 97 in 2016.     What should we expect for 2018?
