2024 Economic Outlook Seminar - Implementing the Green Energy Transition

Posted on February 16, 2024 by ERA Landmark

The 49th Annual Economic Outlook Seminar came to Bozeman, Montana again on January 31st and the big topic of discussion this year was "Implementing the Green Energy Transition: What Would it Take?". The agenda for both in-person and virtual attendees offered industry and economic topics with experts presenting current trends and information. Topics presented and discussed included: tourism and recreation, health care, agriculture, the forest industry, housing, Northwestern Energy update, and a high-tech panel discussion.

"In an era where people of different political persuasions seemingly can’t even agree that the sun rises in the East, it is easy for some to discount or dismiss the notion that carbon-emitting energy production is going away. Just as it is a matter of faith with others that an emissions-free world is right around the corner. These swift conclusions gloss over the hard questions the coming years will force us to address: What would it actually take to power the largest economy in the world within the emissions targets set by our leaders, and what is the most effective way to carry that out?

For our 49th annual Economic Outlook Seminar we add an additional question: What would it mean for Montana? Our colder climate and our large geography have combined to make us one of the most energy-dependent states in the country. We are also a state that mines metals and minerals, and the green energy shopping list for what we could produce is potentially a long one."

This year's seminar was well represented by over 30 ERA Landmark brokers, sales associates, and staff members both in person and virtually. Attendees included Ray Atteberry, Mikaela Bentley, Jerad Biggerstaff, Maggie Biggerstaff, Skylar Bonnette, Baylor Carter, Machael Eickman, Orville Erlenbush, Robyn Erlenbush, Royelle McCollum, Sue Frye, Tom Gierhan, Katie Haley Grimm, Jamie Hetherington, Eden Knapp, Debbie McEachron, Amber McFarlane, Mark Meissner, Rachel Moore, Carissa Paulson, Becca Quackenbush, Cheryl Ridgely, Jessie Sarrazin, Laura Schilke, Ron Seher, Kim Spain, Chelsea Stewart, Bryce Sullivan, and John Whitcomb.
