About Maggie

"A life-long creative soul, my business career has taken many turns from the corporate world to stay-at-home parent, to coaching sports and running a consulting company but has always included an artistic outlet.

While largely self-taught, I had many mentors in my life. They guided me through costume design, stagecraft, textiles, teaching art classes, designing museum exhibits, and producing decorative art. Some form of creativity and art has always been a place to relax and recharge.

Life has now provided the time to direct more energy to the creative process and explore different mediums, relishing the freedom to create. Painting has become my chosen passion.

Raised a city girl, it never quite fit my soul. The majesty of nature draws me to the outdoors. The ocean or mountains has always been my refuge. Reliving those times through the process of creating art brings those memories and feelings back to the present. By sharing the art, perhaps, it brings that same feeling of serenity to others.

Through photography and daily illustrated journals, I collect ideas from the world around us. This forms the basis of my creative endeavors. Acrylic and other water-based medium are used on various sizes of canvas, panels, and 300 lb paper. Representational and abstract landscapes, trees, and florals fill the studio. A constant exploration of additional mediums and subject expand my skill and challenge the inner artist.

My creative base is Artlandish Studios. For 20 years I could only revel in the miracle of Montana part-time. Life provided the opportunity to make it my full-time home two years ago. I brought the concept of Artlandish Studios with me and established a location in Bozeman.

At the studio, I am free to create, teach, engage with other artists, and explore the essence of creativity."

Maggie has chosen to support Montana Endurance Academy’s Nordic Rocks Program, which she holds close to her heart. “Our goal is to provide every school in the Gallatin Valley with Nordic Rock Skis. This will provide children in our community the opportunity to share Gallatin Valley’s passion for outdoor winter activities and a greater appreciation for the places we call home. While many schools provide a ‘ski day’ each year, our hope is by providing the PE teachers with skis to use in their classes, we can integrate the joy and fitness benefits of Nordic skiing and bring the outdoors into their daily PE curriculum.” Maggie plans on donating 20% of all sales toward funding skis with Montana Endurance Academy.

With the help of our agent Mitch Immenschuh, we would like to invite you to stop by to watch live painting demos by Maggie on April 10th from 2-5 pm and April 24th from 1-3 pm. Enjoy an evening of art viewing and social connection on April 24th for the official artist reception from 5-7 pm. We hope to see you there!
