About Alexis

"My name is Alexis Hove, and I am the owner and artist of Alexis Hove Studio. I was born and raised in a small town in Northeastern Iowa, and after graduating from college moved to Montana and have been here ever since.

I have always been a creative thinker, and use art as a means to communicate. Usually non-serious things; a play on words or something I find humorous. I paint often in acrylic, digital, and watercolor, as well as the occasional commission piece. By not limiting my mediums I find it easier to match up which form will work best in that instance and it helps keeps me more engaged in creating. My favorite and most popular acrylic series is "Bear." I enjoy creating whimsical characters that mirror human attributes as well as utilizing humor and bold colors. Thank you for your interest in my work! 

Alexis' Artist Statement: "Montana Spring"

"Almost everything in nature emerges in the spring. After coming out of a long Montana winter, I think we are all ready for a beautiful and colorful spring. Bold colors and high contrast are at the heart of this collection tied together with wildlife and nature themes. 'Straw-Bear-Y' from my series 'Bear,' comes out of his hibernation, A female Big Horn Sheep trots along a mountainside, colorful trout get more active in the rivers, and Ponderosa Pines shake off their snow and sun their needles. A birth of flora and fauna alike transpires as we all seem to take a deep collective breath and come alive again."

Our Pledge

ERA Landmark has always approached hanging artists in our office a little differently - instead of taking a commission from art sales, we ask our artists to donate a small percentage towards a local charity or nonprofit near and dear to their hearts. Alexis has pledged to donate 20% of her art proceeds from any sales to Haven of Bozeman who "is the only nonprofit serving survivors of domestic violence, sex trafficking, and stalking in Gallatin County. Our approach makes us unique — everything we do is deeply and genuinely rooted in empowerment. We connect survivors to all the resources and help they need while trusting they should be the ones to decide what’s best for their own journey." To further help support Alexis' cause, ERA Landmark will be price-matching a donation of up to $250 as well towards the same association.
