Welcome Back, Bobcats! Montana State is Back to School

The days are getting shorter and the air has begun to chill! Back-to-school fever is here in Southwest Montana for all ages, and we can't wait to welcome back our Bobcats to Montana State University. Read more of what we can all look forward to this fall.
Cat Walk and Bobcat Stadium Movie Night
Prepping for the very busy move-in weekend and pre-fall session start, Montana State kicks off with Cat Walk downtown Bozeman and the family fun movie night at Bobcat Stadium!
Move-In Weekend
The dorm doors are open and welcoming new and returning students back this weekend! The four-day-long event starts this Saturday, August 20th, and will continue up through the first day of classes Wednesday, August 24th to allow for everyone traveling from afar with their families time to get settled. The age-old tradition of getting to know the new roommate and exploring Bozeman will officially be in full swing. The days are chock-full of new student orientation, ice cream socials, and the traditional block party and "M Photo" out on the football field. Welcome students!
Catapalooza & Other Events
The back-to-school week for all Bobcats will kick off with Catapalooza, offering soon-to-be students and all Bobcat fans with over 350 MSU campus groups and local vendors presenting their great deals and ready to welcome you to Montana State. Head to the Centennial Mall (big stretch at the center of campus between Montana Hall and the Renne Library) Monday, August 22nd from 10 am - 5 pm to enjoy music, free food, and giveaways! Lean on MSU's hefty calendar of events for all activities throughout the back-to-school week. Check out the campus map to help you find your way around!
MSU Fall 2022
Classes for all students will begin Wednesday, August 24th! President Waded Cruzado "applauded the successes of the past year and looked ahead to the upcoming Montana Legislature, continued campus growth and challenges around hiring and housing. Looking back at last year, Cruzado said she was proud that the university held in-person classes. As the university heads into school year three impacted by COVID-19, the safety measures will look largely the same, with vaccines and testing available through Student Health Partners." One of the most anticipated returns to the norm is Bobcat athletics. Expect all events back to full capacity and get ready to cheer on your favorite teams!
