2020 Season of Giving
Posted on November 23, 2020The associates of ERA Landmark have been giving back to the community during our Season of Giving for 32 years. But like all things 2020, this year has been a little different. The need is greater, our hearts are bigger, and even the smallest gift seems to mean a bit more. Read on to learn about what we’ve been up to, but know that our ability to give is due in no small measure to our loyal clients, friends and associates. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you!
Food Drive
The annual Can the Griz food drive kicked off our Season of Giving. ERA Landmark associates gave money, collected from their neighbors and shopped for the food bank’s wish-list items. In all, we donated to the Gallatin Valley Food Bank, the Ennis Food Bank and the Big Sky Food Bank, and ERA Landmark is a sponsor of The Most Delicious Auction for the Livingston Food Resource Center. The need has been great this year and the food banks have done an amazing job serving the needs of our community. We are proud to be able to support these organizations.
Greater Gallatin United Way Annual Drive
The giving spirit continued when we invited Sylvia Drain from Greater Gallatin United Way (GGUW) to speak at our virtual office meeting. Syliva verified what we already suspected. The needs of GGUW, serving Gallatin, Park and Madison counties, and the organizations they serve faced unique challenges this year. Their focus on four major impact areas - Basic Needs, Behavioral Health & Mental Well-Being, Child & Youth Success, and Senior Stability - is exactly what the community needs during turbulent times and is the reason why ERA Landmark has embraced GGUW for over 30 years. Through our Stronger Together t-shirt campaign, ERA Landmark raised money for the Bridger Foothills Fire Relief Fund, which is managed by GGUW. Additionally, ERA Landmark associates and staff came forward to donate directly to the needs of GGUW to provide year-round financial support.
Gift Giving
Each year we adopt local children and families for the annual tradition of gift giving. The associates of ERA Landmark want to make sure every child gets to experience the joy of unwrapping a holiday surprise. This year we supported more families than ever before. With the coordination of Salvation Army, Boys & Girls Club, and Family Promise, we purchased gifts for 92 children and an additional two families! You’re invited to see these gifts on display at our Downtown Bozeman office, 8 East Main Street, until mid-December when “Santa’s helpers” take the gifts to the recipients.
Health, Safety and Support
As much as we like to give needed items like food, and joyful items like gifts, sometimes the greatest need is money. Earlier in the year, through our Social Distancing t-shirt campaign, we raised nearly $2000 for Haven, Aspen and Women in Action. Out of our Season of Giving fund, we gave an additional donation to Haven and Thrive to support the health and safety of families in our community.
We’d like to send a huge thank you and virtual hug to our associates, staff, clients and organizations for making our "Season of Giving" possible. The shining star of 2020 has to be watching our community embrace one another (from a safe distance) to show care and support in any way we can. We are forever grateful to have the ability to give and to live where helping others is a way of life.
