Dr. Houston settled here with his three young daughters and second wife, adding the rear porch, kitchen, and dining room. A downstairs bedroom served as his medical office.
In 1927, William Parker purchased the home and gave it to his beloved wife, Mable, as a Christmas present. A world traveler and refinery builder, Parker had come to Kalispell in 1921. The home later passed through the Parker family and ultimately to their granddaughter, who retained ownership into the twenty-first century.
Narrow clapboard siding, graceful Tuscan columns, and distinctive twin-gabled dormers give the home its unmistakable historic character.
