Among the names connected to this ground is John Lindsay—a Silver Bow County district judge, attorney, mining-property participant, and an associate of Marcus Daly during Butte's extraordinary transformation. Lindsay arrived in Butte in 1889 as Daly's private secretary and legal counsel before eventually taking the bench.
Lindsay understood mining.
