Mitch Furr of ERA Landmark Big Sky has earned the nationally recognized Short Sales and Foreclosure Resource (SFR) certification. The National Association of REALTORS® offers the SFR certification to REALTORS® who want to help both buyers and sellers navigate these complicated transactions, as demand for professional expertise with distressed sales grows.
REALTORS® who have earned the SFR certification know how to help sellers maneuver the complexities of short sales as well as help buyers pursue short sale and foreclosure opportunities. The certification program includes training on how to qualify sellers for short sales, negotiate with lenders, protect buyers, and limit risk, and provides resources to help REALTORS® stay current on national and state-specific information as the market for these distressed properties evolves.
“Of the 128 residential sales that were reported in the past 12 months for the greater Big Sky area, 18% were distress sales,” reports Furr. “Although, not a majority of our market, the pressure on prices does affect the broader market. Plus, there is a real need for information and advice to share with distressed homeowners of the options that may be available to them and with buyers as to the pros and pitfalls of these types of transactions.”
Furr has been a licensed sales associate with ERA Landmark Big Sky since 2001. She completed her broker license in 2006 and is a Graduate of the Realtor Institute.
