Each year as the Thanksgiving holiday nears, it is appropriate to reflect on all of the blessings and bounties that are abundant here in the Gallatin Valley.  This article by “yours truly” was originally written and published in 2004…clearly, my writing style has relaxed a bit through the years.  What follows is a portion of one of my all-time favorite stories…it seemed like a timely opportunity to bring it to the B2B readers.

On May 14, 1804, Lewis and Clark and their “Corps of Discovery” began their expedition across the unknown territory of the western United States.  Nearly one-quarter of their travels and half of their documented campsites are in Montana.  The members of the expedition were some of the first non-natives to experience the beauty…

RED LODGE — When the market for vacation homes cratered in 2008, Red Lodge developer Bill Kiely didn’t cuss his bad luck and walked away from a development that had a difficult history.

Instead, he came up with a “try it, you’ll like it” approach to marketing high-end condominiums in Island at Rock Creek, a development just east of downtown Red Lodge.

BIG SKY, Mont. — Big Sky Resort is celebrating this week after being highlighted in numerous national ski publications, including an image of Lone Peak appearing on the cover of Ski magazine.

Ski magazine, a Bonnier publication with a national circulation of 450,000, released its fall special issue resort guide with a photo of “perfect corduroy” beneath Big Sky’s “rugged” Lone Peak.  The photo was taken during the 2009/2010 ski season by Public Relations Manager Chad Jones.

“Big Sky’s Lone Peak really stands out from other ski resort landscapes,” says Jones.  â€śIt’s the towering, singular mountain that really makes Big Sky who we are.  I’m always looking for a way to get that iconic image out there, and was thrilled when Ski’s editors decided to…
