March Greetings from Sharon and Brian,

Spring is almost here!  The bluebirds are back, days are getting longer, and everyone is thinking about sprucing up, cleaning, redecorating, and, for some of us, preparing our homes for sale.  Most of our clients are first a seller and then a buyer, so the following comments will be informational for everyone. First-time buyers, too!

As we enter the spring real estate season, we want to present our listings in the best possible light. As your Realtors, we're responsible for beautiful photos, impelling and descriptive verbiage, and complete, extensive media coverage.  Our sellers are responsible for pricing (with our professional input) and for the condition of their property as it is presented to the market.

To that end, we've been teaming with an experienced interior designer/stager, to make our listings even more appealing.  And it's working!  By highlighting your home's strengths, we can appeal to the greatest possible number of prospective buyers.  Sometimes it's difficult for buyers to imagine living in a home that's full of another family's very personal possessions, photos, and furnishings.  Even an empty house, a completely blank "palette," creates challenges for buyers who are trying to envision how they can personalize the rooms and make the home "theirs."

This is where the professional designer/stager can be worth her weight in gold.  She can evaluate what needs to be done - rearranging furniture, eliminating clutter and distracting possessions, and bringing in items for accenting positive features.  The stager can create functional spaces out of awkward areas, help rooms feel more spacious and inviting, and illustrate different uses for rooms, thereby opening buyers' imaginations.  In most cases, your own furniture and accessories can be moved and rearranged to better use by the stage.  A fresh, professional eye can create magic!  Realtors can help with these perceptions as they show the home, but, as they say, a "picture is worth a thousand words."  In this case, that's so true.

If you're thinking of listing your home, just give us a call.  We'll be glad to view your home, help in evaluating its place in the market and talk about our marketing and negotiating expertise.  As we prepare for actually placing your home on the market, if you wish to consult one of our talented local stagers/designers, we can help get that process in motion.  A few hours of professional help can make all the difference in selling results!
