Where to Eat in Bozeman - Bozeman's Best Restaurants

If you’re coming to visit Bozeman (or already here) you’re probably wondering where the best places to eat are! We have many local staples in the Bozeman food scene and we’re adding new places to the list all the time as we continue to grow. Here’s a list of some of Bozeman’s best restaurants that you don’t want to miss during your visit!

Backcountry Burger Bar

If a good burger is what you’re looking for, try Backcountry Burger Bar located on Main Street in downtown Bozeman. They use Montana-raised and processed beef and bison, local, hand-cut potatoes and Montana flour baked buns.

Bacchus Pub

Located inside the historic Baxter Hotel on Main Street, you can grab a drink and a delicious meal inside this cozy neighborhood pub. Try one of their many customer favorites like curry fries or Bacchus beef stew!

Blackbird

Blackbird is a local favorite! Not only is the food delicious, but the atmosphere is inviting and the restaurant is gorgeous. You can even watch them make your pizza from the open kitchen counter seating!

Blacksmith Italian

Enjoy handcrafted Italian food in Big Sky Country! Blacksmith uses locally sourced ingredients to prepare exceptional dishes with the Italian spirit, making this a must-eat place in Bozeman.

Bourbon

This BBQ restaurant brought a little southern flair to Bozeman in 2021. Bourbon has become a local favorite with more than 100 whiskeys and scotches, great food and live music and dancing.

Cateye Cafe

Cateye Cafe is locally owned and operated and has been in Bozeman for 20 years. It offers a delicious breakfast and lunch menu of house made comfort food and has been featured in Bon Appetit, Food Network and Bicycling Magazine.

Copper Whiskey Bar and Grill

Copper Whiskey Bar and Grill is another local staple with a cozy basement ambiance and a beautiful lit whiskey bar. Enjoy signature cocktails, phenomenal food and a welcoming atmosphere in the heart of downtown Bozeman.

Jam!

You’ll see people lined up for brunch every weekend at Jam! They have unique twists on familiar breakfast fare, specialty mimosas, local brewed beers and handcrafted espresso drinks. You’ll love the bright and energetic atmosphere to start your weekend off right!

J.W. Heist Steakhouse

While fairly new to Bozeman, Heist has made a name for itself with it’s exquisite prime beef, fresh seafood and classic cocktails along with an award-winning wine list. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or just out on a Tuesday, you’ll have a night to remember here!

Mackenzie River Pizza Grill and Pub

Mackenzie River was created in Montana in 1993 and now has locations across the US. Visit the one in downtown Bozeman or Belgrade and choose from delicious pizza, sandwiches and more. There are gluten free options available too!

Montana Ale Works

This is an award-winning restaurant and bar that’s family-friendly and located in the historic Northern Pacific freight building on the east end of Main Street. The menu features locally sourced food and 40+ craft beers on tap. 

Nina’s Tacos

In the mood for tacos and margs? Nina’s is the place to go! They create a fresh look into Mexican cuisine and their hand picked Tequila selection is spectacular! It’s located in downtown Bozeman off Mendenhall Street, close to multiple hotels, making it easy access if you’re staying downtown.

Open Range

This award-winning steak house is where to go for delicious cocktails and unparalleled dinners. It’s located on Main Street in downtown Bozeman.

Plonk

This is one of Bozeman’s favorite happy hour spots. Enjoy a relaxed environment, great happy hour offerings and a wide variety of menu options. Plonk has locations in downtown Bozeman and Missoula.

Red Tractor Pizza

New York style pizza with a Bozeman spin! Red Tractor uses the freshest, most locally-sourced ingredients and has an amazing family-friendly atmosphere with great service and from time-to-time, live music. Try my favorite, the Bill Murray!

Seven Sushi

If sushi is what you’re hungry for, this is the place to go! There’s more than just sushi that Seven offers though. They feature clever maki, Japanese fusion fare and carefully selected wine, beer and sake. It’s located in the historic Cannery District.

Sidewinders American Grill

Sidewinders has locations in Bozeman and Wyoming and is known for its great menu and family friendly atmosphere with an extensive menu of craft beers. It’s located in west Bozeman next to The Market at Ferguson Farm.

Ted’s Montana Grill

A Montana staple on Main Street in downtown Bozeman is Ted’s Montana Grill. Their ideals are sustainability, hospitality and great food. Enjoy a delicious bison burger, chicken or seafood. They even have a gluten free menu!

Western Cafe

The Western Cafe is one of Bozeman’s best breakfast spots! Owned and operated by Montana born locals, you’ll find no fuss, delicious food for breakfast and lunch. The Western embodies traditional Montana: simple food, simple environment, simple comforts… simply community.
