One of Bozeman's favorite Halloween traditions is returning! The Downtown Bozeman Association invites families to enjoy an afternoon of trick-or-treating along Main Street, with more than 100 participating businesses handing out candy and treats.

For the safety of trick-or-treaters, Main Street will be closed to vehicle traffic between Grand Avenue and Church Avenue from approximately 3–7 PM. This free community event takes place rain, snow, or shine, so be sure to dress for Montana's unpredictable fall weather. It's a wonderful opportunity to enjoy downtown Bozeman, visit local businesses, and celebrate Halloween with the community.

This three-day event brings together spooky entertainment, creative costumes, and activities for a variety of ages. Families can look forward to the Mini Monster Mash kids' celebration, while the broader festival includes a pet costume contest, Día de los Muertos festivities, and a Halloween-themed run. It's a fun way to celebrate the holiday in Big Sky's mountain setting.

Manhattan is another great place to celebrate Halloween in Southwest Montana. Families can enjoy the tradition of dressing up, visiting neighbors, and spending Halloween evening together. While a specific organized trick-or-treating event for 2026 has not yet been confirmed, families can watch for announcements from local schools, businesses, and community organizations. For those looking to extend their fall festivities, the Montana Corn Maze near Manhattan is another popular seasonal attraction, with activities for families throughout much of October.

Tips for a Safe and Fun Montana Halloween

Halloween in Southwest Montana can bring everything from sunny skies to freezing temperatures and even snow. Before heading out, remember to dress in layers underneath costumes, bring flashlights or reflective accessories for evening trick-or-treating, and choose comfortable footwear for walking.
